Wilderness Weeks

Join us for a nature lover's dream holiday to celebrate New Zealand's extraordinary natural history in comfort and style.

Selected Dates: October 2020 - April 2021

These special Wilderness Weeks have been carefully designed by Wilderness Lodge owner and chief guide, renowned conservationist Dr Gerry McSweeney.

With the closure of New Zealand borders there has never been a better time for Kiwis to get out and explore our own backyard. Discover the coastlines, wildlife and rainforests of Lake Moeraki and the alpine valleys, braided rivers and mountain basins of Arthur's Pass. Relaxed and fun, these trips will leave you with a new appreciation for wild New Zealand.

For further details see below or contact us. Spaces are limited so please don't delay.

  • “Stunning spot to relax & explore nature”

The guides were wonderful and so willing to answer questions. We enjoyed the beautiful trails and have a new appreciation for the flora and fauna. The lodge itself is comfy with a welcoming elegance. food was delicious and staff pleasant and accommodating. I would return in a heartbeat.

  • “Penguins, fine food and family.”

Myself, husband, adult children and partners had a rendezvous at the lodge. We joined the guided activities and also did our own thing. Each night we had gourmet meals and laughed a lot. If that wasn't enough we also got to see the tawaki penguins. Truly a holiday I will never forget.
