				<title><![CDATA[A TAWAKI PENGUIN STORY ON THE MOERAKI SEACOAST]]></title>

				<description><![CDATA[Tawaki, the Fiordland Crested Penguin breeds only in the south west corner of the South Island. They breed in jungle-like coastal rainforest beneath tree trunks and in jumbled rocks, overhangs and caves. Breeding sites are found from the Paringa River in South Westland south to Stewart Island. Their total population is estimated to be in the order of 2,500 pairs. They are recognised as the second rarest of the worlds 17 penguin species behind the Galapagos penguin that numbers only an estimated 1,500 pairs. There are 3,000-3,500 pairs of Hoiho, the yellow eyed penguin.]]></description>
