The Wilderness Lodge Tariff Includes:

  • Stylish accommodation in the room style of your choice
  • Gourmet dinner in the Riverside Restaurant
  • Full breakfast of continental and cooked options
  • One shorter guided nature activity each day. These vary daily and introduce guests to the areas fascinating natural history.
  • Use of complimentary lodge facilities: Walking trails, safe and stable kayaks, satellite WiFi, library and guest laundry.

Deposits & Cancellations:

  • We require a 25% deposit to secure your reservation
  • Deposits are non-refundable for cancellations within 30 days of arrival.
  • Cancellation outside 30 days of arrival will incur a transaction fee equal to 5% of the value of the booking.
  • Full tariff is payable for cancellation within 7 days of arrival

Reservation Notes:

  1. Reservations are recommended. We encourage at least a 2-3 night stay to make the most of what the lodge offers.
  2. We require a 2 night minimum stay between 1st November and 31st March. One night stays may only be booked at the discretion of our reservations team.
  3. Tariff is in New Zealand Dollars and is valid to 31 May 2025.
  4. Tariff includes 15% Tax Government Goods & Services (GST).
  5. Group & family rates are available on application direct to the Lodge.
  6. Child rate (ages 2-12 years) is 50% of adult rate when sharing a room with two adults.
  7. Conference facilities are available including conference rooms and exclusive use options.
  8. Statutory holiday surcharge of NZ$120 per person applies for stays on Westland Anniversary Day (1 December 2024), Christmas Day (Dec 25), Boxing Day (Dec 26), New Year's Day (Jan 1) and January 2, Waitangi Day (Feb 6), Good Friday, Easter Monday, ANZAC and Labour Days.
  9. Check out/check in is not available on Christmas Day

    The guides were wonderful and so willing to answer questions. We enjoyed the beautiful trails and have a new appreciation for the flora and fauna. The lodge itself is comfy with a welcoming elegance. food was delicious and staff pleasant and accommodating. I would return in a heartbeat.

  • “Penguins, fine food and family.”


    Myself, husband, adult children and partners had a rendezvous at the lodge. We joined the guided activities and also did our own thing. Each night we had gourmet meals and laughed a lot. If that wasn't enough we also got to see the tawaki penguins. Truly a holiday I will never forget.

    The Wilderness Lodge is a unique holiday experience . Lovely rooms with very friendly and helpful staff. Excellent meals. Lots of activities from kayaking, to walking forest trails to trips with an expert guide. The hosts are excellent, very knowledgeable and committed to environmental work.

Wilderness Lodge Lake Moeraki is located on the South Island’s West Coast between the Glaciers and Wanaka/Queenstown. It is a comfortable 5.5 hours drive from Wilderness Lodge Arthur’s Pass and 3.5 hours from Queenstown Airport. We have driving notes available for the journey north or south.

Wilderness Lodge Arthur’s Pass is located on Highway 73 between Christchurch and the West Coast. It is less than 2 hours drive from Christchurch and the towns of Greymouth & Hokitika and a comfortable 5.5 hours to Wilderness Lodge Lake Moeraki. The TranzAlpine train stops in Arthur’s Pass and transfers to/from the lodge are available.
